No way, ‘cause your pop-out cup holders are just above that slot, and your drink might drip on it. You’d ruin your expensive SSD! Don’t you kids know anything?

That looks oddly similar to an old-timey ZIP Disk.

I thought you were going to show a picture of the NFG way that so many of us mount them. I usually use zip ties because screws are too much work for something that weighs nothing. The other day a coworker bought an adapter to put one in a 3.5" slot. I told him he should have saved the money and just zip tied it somewhere, because it weighs so little it won’t move anyhow.

I have a 3.5" hotswap thing that fits in a CD drive bay. Doesn’t actually fit 2.5" drives though.

Movement doesnt matter with ssds since there’s no moving parts.

You don’t want it bouncing around when the computer is moved, though.

It was, back in its day. Instead of 1.44mb floppies... you got nearly 70x more storage on ONE disk.

I’m actually surprised it didn’t become more popular, I suppose CD drives broke onto the scene and went pshhh forget those expensive zip drives!

CD burners more specifically. CD drives were around a while before zip drives. CD burners came out shortly after

That’s true.

We can now add Zip Disks to the list of BetaMax and HDDVD
